General Manager Michael Moore brings an extensive managerial background along with his love of great food and service to Yankee Pier, Lafayette. First introduced to seafood while living on Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, Moore feels right at home with the mixture of fresh New England cuisine and Californian hospitality offered at Yankee Pier.

A native of Woodside, California, Moore attended the University of California, Berkeley and graduated with a degree in psychology. After graduation he worked as a General Manager for the Chart House Restaurants in California, Hawaii and Maryland. In his managerial debut, Moore achieved and sustained a company-wide first place ranking for both sales and profitability, trained a team of 125 employees and developed the company’s standard customer service training manual.

Diversifying his career, Moore next worked in various managerial positions for specialty retailers The Nature Company and Restoration Hardware before taking a Regional Manager position at Baja Fresh Mexican Grill in Corte Madera. While at Baja Fresh, Moore beat projected sales targets and established a new franchise area by opening three new restaurants.

Prior to joining Yankee Pier, Lafayette, Moore worked as General Manager at Paradise Bay Restaurant in Sausalito where he helped launch the new restaurant from the ground up. In addition to hiring and training the front of house staff and recruiting the executive chef, Moore built the company’s Web site. Within two years of opening, Paradise Bay earned the distinction of being one of only 25 restaurants in the North Bay endorsed by the 2007 Michelin Guide.

Moore has frequented Lark Creek Restaurant Group establishments for years enjoying the food, service and high standards of the restaurants. When the opportunity presented itself to join the team at Yankee Pier, Moore accepted it immediately. “I was always attracted to Lark Creek Restaurant Group because of its sterling reputation,” explains Moore. “Prospering in a new market and fostering repeat business in the long-term demands consistency in food quality and service. We are poised and committed to providing exactly that kind of dining experience to each one of our guests. ”

When not at the restaurant, Moore enjoys cooking, mountain biking and spending time at his Mill Valley home with his wife, two daughters and their big dog Tucker.
